Gisella is a HUGE and fancy 2016 solid bay warmblood filly by 17.1hh Canadian WB Goyan de Lahaie by 16.3hh Swiss WB Goya du Lully by Swiss WB Gauguin du Lully; and out of a 17hh Canadian WB mare, Josephine by 16.2hh Hanoverian Warkanson by Hanoverian Warkant. Goya du Lully was Reserve Champion at his stallion approval in Switzerland, where they noted that he possesses a “tremendous topline, powerful, fluid movement and displays exceptional temperament and character”. He competed up to Prix St Georges before injury. Gauguin’s dam is sired by Swedish WB Gaspari, who competed twice at the Olympics and also sired Olympic champion Piaff. Gauguin is sired by Chagall, the sire of several approved sons and Olympic dressage horses. Gauguin competed to Grand Prix and helped earn team medals as well as earning individual medals at World Championships, the Olympics and the World Equestrian Games. Warkanson’s dam sire is Esprit, who also produced internationally competitive jumpers. Warkanson completed the 11 month performance test in Germany, where he earned an index of 104.7, and was equally strong in dressage and jumping. Warkant was named the 2002 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year due to the outstanding performance of his offspring at the highest level of dressage. Josephine is out of a Trakhener/Holsteiner mare by Holsteiner Salut. Salut is a grandson of Cottage Son (who sired several horses that competed in the Olympics), and competed in S-level jumpers in Europe, winning 21 championships and placing 49 times. Gisella has a great pedigree for dressage or jumpers, and is going to be BIG! She is already displaying a wonderful temperament as well. She has been imprinted several times since birth, and is very easy to handle.

Dreamer has lovely uphill conformation and floaty movement. She is sired by Hanoverian stallion Navarrone. She is suitable for hunters or dressage, and brave enough over fences for eventing and jumpers too! Dreamer is very sweet, with an eager to please attitude. I have used her for lessons in my lesson program, and she has been fabulous! She would be great for a young rider or adult amateur. She stands for clipping, bathing, farrier, vet, and will stand tied to the trailer at shows all day. She has no vices, and is UTD on everything.

Congratulations to Camille Sullivan on her purchase of Gypsy! These two already make a wonderful team, now they just get to spend even more time together!

She carries them through walk, trot and canter and over any kind of jumps. She has taken many students to competitions in hunters and dressage and eventing. She has even won some championship and reserve championship placings! She loves to jump, play games and swim in the pond. She has also been out on the trail and is trained to drive as well. She is not spooky and is a super easy keeper. She will load on the trailer easily, stand tied to it all day, clip, bathe, cross tie and is UTD on everything.

"BJ" is a beautifully marked black and white horse. He is a super sweet people pleaser and loves attention! You can ride him english or western or out on the trail, and no matter where you go, you will get noticed! Black Jack has no vices and will stand tied to the trailer just fine all day. He loads, clips and stands for the farrier as well. He is UTD on coggins, deworming and vaccines.

Click here to see a video of Zelda at walk, trot and canter. She is being ridden by one of my 13 year old students.

Congratulations to Gabby Navarro on her purchase of Zelda! She has been working with Zelda for the past year, and really fell in love with her. She finally realized that she just couldn't part with her and decided to buy her. We wish her the best of luck on her new endeavor with her first horse!

"Zelda" is a pretty and sweet-natured Thoroughbred/Welsh cross mare at 14.1 hands high. Having competed in eventing, jumpers and hunters, she has proven her versatility and athletic ability. She has schooled 2'6" courses, but has jumped up to 3'6" with plenty of room to spare! With her beautiful conformation and delicate face, she is sure to get the judge's attention. Her trot is impressive, with large floaty strides. She learns quickly and is willing to try anything. Zelda is sound and barefoot with GREAT feet. No vices. Loads, clips, ties like a dream and stands for farrier. She is UTD on coggins, deworming and vaccines.

"Echo" is a very sweet-natured and laid-back colt. He is by Grand Prix stallion L.A. Baltic Sundance and out of Extra Lucky (imported Swedish Warmblood mare) by Elektron, and is the last one by this pairing. He is a solidly built horse that should mature to 16+ hands. He is very willing to learn and friendly with people. Echo has been free-jumped lightly and shows real talent for jumping. Full siblings to Echo have multiple championships in "A" rated hunter shows. He is currently carrying a saddle and wearing a bridle. He has also started learning to long line and is picking everything up very quickly. He hasn't really offered to buck or cut up when lunged with his equipment on - he is very willing and submissive. Echo is up to date on coggins, deworming and vaccines.

"JJ" is half brother to Baltic Nocturne (below). He is also by LA Baltic Sundance and has definitely inherited his father's knack for jumping. He has been free jumped and shows lots of natural talent. Currently, he is going nicely under saddle and has a quiet walk and trot. He is a big horse with good, solid bone - he should hold up well for jumping or eventing. JJ has good conformation and a fabulous temperament. He will follow you anywhere and is up for anything you ask him to do. He's a quick learner and adapts well. JJ is UTD on everything and will stand tied, clip and load on a trailer.

"Ace" is a very handsome gelding with a sweet disposition. Ace has competed in eventing with a junior rider. I think, with his racing bloodlines, he would make a good barrel racing prospect. He is bred to race, with Easy Jet top and bottom. Ace is UTD on everything and has no vices. He will continue in professional training until sold.

"Silky" is a very sweet mare who really loves people. She will come right up to you in the field. She is a big bodied horse who would be great for a man or a larger rider. She is a big mover and has a wonderful trot. She is starting over fences, and is great on the trails. Silky has been to a couple of shows to hang out. She loads easily and ties to the trailer all day. In her first and only class so far, she got fourth out of 11! She is UTD on everything and has no vices. update (1/20/13): Liz sent me an email today and a picture of Cassidy. They both look great and look like they are having a lot of fun. She says "Here's a photo of Cassidy - look at her neck! She's lovely. We are having the best time. I don't get to jump her much, mostly because we don't have a good set up for it and I don't have time. I've pretty much been focusing on the flat. I'll let you know when we go to a show next. Take Care!"

Update on Cassidy (9/12/11): Liz is really enjoying Cassidy. She writes "Bailey and I went on a hack in the fields Saturday and she [Cassidy] was a dream – happy to trot behind or side by side. No rushing and very calm. Bailey says she wishes we had one of her in every color! My daughter jumped her this weekend and thought she was fabulous. I have been able to ride her every couple of days and she is everything I hoped for. You did such a good job with her. Truly."

Congratulations to Liz Long of Rougemont, NC on her purchase of Cassidy! Liz has been looking for a new horse for a while that she could practice dressage with and possibly a little jumping and some light showing. She fell in love with Cassidy at first sight! They are a great fit and I feel confident that Liz will give Cassidy a great home with lots of love. I look forward to seeing Liz and Cassidy at some shows in the near future!

"Cassidy" is a very talented mare with unlimited potential. She was class 1 at the Swedish Warmblood inspection as a weanling, and went on to win the 2005 NCDCTA Sport Horse Breeding Show Filly (3 and under) Championship , qualifying her for the 2005 Cosequin USDF Breeder's Championship Series. In addition she was the 2005 NCDCTA Sport Horse Breeding Show Fillies of 2005 Champion and the 2005 NCDCTA Sport Horse Breeding Show SWANA High Scorer, beating out her sire, LA Baltic Sundance! As Cassidy started her riding career, she soared there as well, earning the 2008 MacNair's Country Acres Year End Reserve Championship at Intro level. Her dressage scores are always in the high 60's to low 70's with lots of 8's and also a few 9's. Her highest score to date is an 80%!! Her gaits are impeccable, with a 9 canter. Since she started jumping in 2009, she has proven herself to truly be able to follow in her father's footsteps. her combined scores are consistently in the low 30's and she almost always goes double clear. She has competed as high as beginner novice and schooled some novice jumps. Cassidy is UTD on everything, has no vices, and is completely sound. As a bonus, Cassidy is also broke to drive. She will continue in professional training and competition until sold, and her price may increase with her accomplishments.

**Update 6/16/10 - Congratulations to Lois and Heather Mercer on their purchase of Patti! Heather will be riding and competing Patti in eventing and Lois will be riding and competing Patti in huntseat. This is the perfect home for this very sweet and versatile mare. I am so happy for both of them!!

"Patti" is a sweet mare with NO vices. Patti could do just about anything, but her true talent lies as an eventer or jumper. She has nice gaits and a GREAT puppy dog temperament. She has competed up to novice level at schooling horse trials, and recently competed at her first USEA rated horse trial, going double clear cross country! Patti's dressage scores are usually in the mid 30's. Patti LOVES jumping, whether stadium or cross country and doesn't balk at ANY type of jump. She will take anything, including banks, water and ditches. She has schooled up to 3'3" and competed up to 2'11". She won her first horse trial going double clear and finishing on her dressage score. Patti is also well started in harness for driving. This mare would be a fabulous all-around horse! She is also great with kids, has NO bad habits or vices, and is UTD on everything. She will continue in professional training and competition until sold. Her purchase price also includes a half price breeding to LA Baltic Sundance, Castle Farm's favorite stallion!

This is a great trailer for hauling horses anywhere. It is in good condition and has been serviced regularly. The lights, jack and tires are in good shape, and it does come with a spare. I have pulled it with an F150 with no problems. Price is negotiable.

Congratulations to Katie Toney on her purchase of Oktoberfest! Katie and Clyde will make a great pair. Look for them to sweep up the ribbons in the hunter classes!

"Clyde" is a beautiful representation of his breed. He has fabulous conformation and athleticism that makes him suitable for dressage and jumping. He excels at dressage, consistently earning scores in the 60's, receiving 8's for his gaits and even a 9 for his free walk! In addition to dressage, Clyde also has wonderful scope for jumping. He has schooled up to 3' and competed up to 2'7". He has competed in both combined training and eventing and has won several times, including his first time at Maiden combined and his first attempt at the Novice dressage test. He has no problems with ditches, water or banks. Clyde has a willing attitude and is eager to please. He is UTD on everything and has no vices. He is currently in professional training and will continue to compete until sold. Price may increase with training and further competition experience.

2004 Kiger Mustang gelding, 14.1hh

Cisco is a CUTE pony with a super sweet disposition. He is 14.1hh with shoes and would make a fabulous hunter or dressage mount for a junior rider. He has a forward but consistent trot and smooth canter that is easy to ride. He will stand for ANYTHING and is up to date on everything. His price will increase as he is started over fences and competed.

1999 dark bay Morgan cross gelding

Click here to see more pictures of Scamper.

"Scamper" is a 9yo beautiful bay Morgan cross. He may have some quarter horse in him, but I'm not sure. He is about 15.1-15.2hh tall and very athletic. He has a sweet, puppy dog personality and has "been there, done that". He loves to jump. He currently jumps about 2'-2'6" but he has potential to go higher. He loves the trails and is VERY safe on trails. Scamper is a great horse, I just sadly do not have time for him. He would need an intermediate rider. I would like to sell him soon to a loving home so I can buy another barrel horse. -Devin

2003 grey and white paint pony gelding

**Congratulations to Bill Montero on the purchase of Storm! Bill has purchased Storm to be used as a hunter pony in Texas. We wish them the best of luck in their competitions!

Storm is a sweet large pony standing right at 14.2hh. He is currently in professional training to fine tune his skills. He is going well at the walk, trot and canter and is starting over jumps. He has nice smooth transitions and always gets his leads. He is beautiful to look at and has lovely gaits that would be suitable for the hunter classes. He stands cross tied, clips, bathes and loads easily. He gets along great with the other geldings and is up to date on everything.

Update (7/12/08): Storm went to his first hunter show today and was fabulous! He competed in two classes in the Hopeful Hunter division and placed first and second respectively. He had a great attitude the whole day and everyone commented on how beautiful he is.

Update (12/9/12): I just received an email from Storm's current owner: "It's a rainy day in Arkansas so I was doing some research on the background of my horses. I happened to find your site with a picture of our boy Ice. We bought this sweet guy from Bill Montero almost 2 years ago. Bill bought him from you in 2008, I think. I thought you might want to know how great your old horse is doing! I've attached a picture of Isabella and Ice from last spring. She is a very timid rider, but he completely takes care of her (except for an occasional pony moment). They do all of our local hunter/jumper shows in Little Rock, and they did a couple of starter HTs this year. She wouldn't do it without them. He is an amazing horse. Thanks for the smile, it was great to see him as a younger horse." -Tina B. Click here to see the picture of Ice and Isabella.

Daddy's Investment
1996 dark bay Morgan cross mare

"Izzy" has been SADLY outgrown. She is a beautiful 15.1 hh, dark bay, Morgan cross, mare. We think she is crossed w/ TB but have no proof. She is an angel. She will stand forever to be groomed, clipped, vetted, farrier, etc. Her feet and legs are clean. She has always been sound for us. She will self load into the trailer. She is my 12 yr old daughter's first horse. She taught my daughter a lot and was a great confidence builder. My daughter has shown her CT maiden, fox hunted (second flight) many times, hunter paced, TONS of trail miles, tons of ring work, and lots of jumps. Izzy will go into frame nicely at walk & trot - requires just a little more effort at the canter. Izzy is the same horse at the show and at the barn. Izzy will jump anything-water, ditches, lounge chairs, trees, jumps w/ cones and flowers all over it - you name it, my daughter has tried it w/ her. She has taken her swimming in our pond. She is a very willing jumper. She is consistently schooled 2'3" to 2'9". I have never seen this horse spook at anything-dogs, cats, goats, minis, bikes, trucks, cars, long horned cows, tarps, etc. She does not buck, rear, bite, crib, weave, etc. This horse is a fabulous all around horse. She has been there and done that! More pictures and video available.

**Please note** The girl riding Izzy is 5'9 1/2". The horse is actually 15.1hh, she just looks small since the rider is so tall!

Baltic Hartwin
2004 chestnut Swedish Warmblood gelding

"Hartwin" is currently 15'2hh but still growing. He is by LA Baltic Sundance and out of Lusty Gambler, full brother to CF Baltic Royal Flush. He was inspected and branded by the Swedish Warmblood registry as a yearling. He is green broke to ride, he lunges, has good ground manners, is a fast learner and has the wonderful Sundance disposition. Hartwin is lifetime registered with USDF, USEF and the National Equestrian Federation. He would make an excellent dressage, combined training or eventing prospect.

Jo Jo's Secret
1998 chestnut Paint/Thoroughbred mare

Congratulations to Laurie Betts on her purchase of Jo Jo's Secret! She will be keeping her in training with Judy and Brewster Walker of Station Hill Farm in Cedar Grove, NC for several months. After that, look for Jo in the dressage and combined training show ring again!

Jojo is Heather's personal event horse that she is reluctantly putting up for sale. She has many accolades to her name including the following:

Jojo has excelled in english pleasure, dressage, jumping, foxhunting, driving and most recently, eventing. In September 2006, Heather and Jo qualified and competed at the American Eventing Championships. She is in tip top shape with excellent conformation and a wonderful disposition. She will continue to be evented until sold.

Tease The Girls
2002 registered appendix QH bay gelding

"Tease the Girls" is solidly trained at walk, trot and canter. He has also been trail ridden, and is very comfortable. He goes through water and over ditches without a problem. He is started over crossrails and has good lead changes. "Teaser" is very willing and very quiet. (11/24/06)

2000 Arab/Welsh grey mare

"Rose" is trained in dressage and jumping, but may need some "refresher" work. She is 14.1hh and somewhat spirited, but very sweet. She would be perfect for a young girl with riding experience. Her sale price includes all her tack which is new and top of the line. Rose is up to date on all vaccines and coggins. The owner's job has changed and she has to put in more hours to meet added responsibilities....she just doesn't have the time to invest. (6/3/07)

2004 TB/Percheron bay mare

Update from Martin Williams on Dodi and Ellen (3/15/08): Ellen & Dodi went to the Johnston County Show today. They rode in 6 classes and ribboned in 5 of them! They had a ball and Dodi is a joy. Thanks for all your help. (you can click here to see a pic of Dodi and Ellen)

Congratulations to Ellen Williams who is Dodi's new owner. Ellen is looking to start eventing and loved Dodi's bold style over fences. Hopefully, we will see this team at the horse trials soon!

Update on Dodi (2/16/08) Dodi went to her first horse trials and competed at maiden level. She did very well, despite being a little nervous (she didn't do anything ugly or unmanageable, she just lacked a little confidence). By the end of the show, she had started to figure out what she was doing and finished on a really good note. Here is a video from the show, including her dressage test (where she thought she was supposed to jump over the poles at first), parts of her cross country and her stadium. She jumped really well, and should do even better the next time.
Here is a movie of Dodi's first time jumping cross country at the Carolina Horse Park. Here is the most recent movie of Dodi's flatwork. Follow this link to see an early movie of Dodi in action! You can click here to see more recent pictures of Dodi at work.

Update on Dodi (2/3/08) - Dodi went on her first foxhunt today. She kept up with the field without getting crazy. She stood nice and still when we had to wait and she jumped every 4 foot ditch we came across (about 7 of them). All in all, she was a great ride!

"Dodi" is a solid 16hh and very sweet. She is comfortable going at the walk, trot and canter and will easily pick up both leads. She goes through water and over ditches without hesitation, and is very comfortable on the trail. A 4yo girl has ridden Dodi out on trails. She is currently working over 2' jumps of all types and really enjoys her work. Dodi stands tied and for the farrier, she loads on a trailer easily and stands to be clipped, even her ears, with no problem. She is very easy to work with and an easy keeper as well!(11/20/06)

Baltic Freedom
2002 Swedish Warmblood bay mare

**Update from Polly on Libby (11/12/07): I thought you would enjoy seeing these photos of Libby at the Scott Hassler clinic. (don't look too closely at me!) She was SO good at the clinic. These photos were taken on Saturday (she was a bit distracted). By Sunday, she was REALLY good (unfortunately, there are no pictures from the Sunday rides). On Sunday she was going MUCH MUCH better and I was riding better. I was a bit nervous on Saturday and I hate how collapsed my hip is in the leg yield photos, but doesn't Libby look nice? I was really happy to get the opportunity to ride her in the clinic. (Pictures can be seen at

**Update from Polly on Libby: "Great news! Libby has been selected for the Scott Hassler clinic Nov.3&4. She is doing great. She is a quick learner and so sweet."

Congratulations to Polly Yeago on her purchase of Baltic Freedom. We look forward to seeing this pair moving up the levels at the dressage shows!

Previously, "Libby" had been with Castle Farm for a few months, and had been quietly started under saddle. She walks, trots and canters and is also going over small jumps. Libby is also free-jumping up to 4'. She is very easy to work with, stands well in the cross-ties and for the farrier, loads, clips and bathes. She has no vices. Libby should make a wonderful hunter or dressage prospect. She has recently been to her first show and placed very well earning a 4th out of 9, a 9th out of 27 and a 1st out of 11. Libby also attended the Swedish Warmblood inspection, being judged in the 3-4 year old test. She received 9's on her free jumping technique and free jumping temperament. The inspectors strongly encourage her to become a jumping horse. They also gave her an 8 on her canter, saying that it was the nicest canter they had seen so far. Libby received Class 1 status at the inspection.
