Schuyler (pronounced like "Skyler") is the old man of Castle Farm, the self-proclaimed "head of the herd". He is great with children, and has the patience of Job. He is only 11.2 hands (46 inches) tall, which makes him a favorite among children. He is also a celebrity at the NC State University Vet Hospital, since Schuyler was used as a study horse, when he was first born, for fescue toxicosis.

"Butch" is a 2007 Swedish Warmblood colt by LA Baltic Sundance and out of Gloria RSH (aka Gloria). He is currently going nicely at the walk, trot and canter and is starting his dressage show career. He has also started going over poles in the hopes that he will make an eventing prospect.

Cisco is the most recent purchase for Castle Farm. He LOVES to canter and jump and he does both very smoothly. He has a great attitude and really loves people, so he's easy to fall in love with. He has a great future here at Castle Farm! You can click here to check out a video of Cisco at his first show. He acted like he does at home and just took it all in. He won his jumper class as well!

Name: Dyblu Double Diamond
AKA: "Dover"
Stats:2000 Section A Welsh Pony gelding
Owned by: Castle Farm
Used for: riding and driving lessons
2010 CCDC Fall Pleasure Driving Show Reserve Champion Games Division (whip Heather King)
2011 CCDC Fall Pleasure Driving Show Small Pony Champion (whip Pauline Downey)

Dover is one of the cutest little ponies I have ever seen (don't tell Schuyler :) ). He is a purebred Welsh pony with very refined conformation. He is broke to ride and drive, but has been out of shape for a while. We will be getting him back to work slowly and, hopefully, start using him for driving lessons and also riding lessons for small children. His personality is perfect for a lesson program and he really loves kids and lots of attention!

Name: Josephine
AKA: "Fiona"
Stats:2008 Canadian Warmblood mare, 17hh
Owned by: Castle Farm
Used for: broodmare, dressage, jumping, lessons

Fiona is Castle Farm's new matriarch. She is here to produce big, beautiful babies. She is HUGE, but has a very docile temperament and nice movement. I can't wait to see what she produces!

(Photos by Heather King)
Name: CF Gisella
AKA: "Gia"
Stats: 2016 Canadian Warmblood filly, 15hh and growing!
Owned by: Castle Farm
Used for: learning to be a well behaved horse

Gia was born here at Castle Farm. Her dam is Fiona, who was brought here to be the matriarch of Castle Farm. Gia just kind of came along for the ride, since Fiona was already pregnant at the time of purchase. She spends her days learning the ropes of how to become a well-adjusted adult horse. She has a great personality and really likes people too!

Sandi has changed ownership again, but still remains at Castle Farm. Amanda fell in love with Sandi a long time ago, so it's just fitting that she owns her now. They enjoy steadily working on their dressage and improving Sandi slowly but surely.

Lois is looking forward to enjoying life as a first time horse owner (it's never too late), and also competing in hunter competitions. Heather enjoys eventing, and since Patti is such a versatile horse, she is perfect for both jobs. Patti is a laid back, quiet and sweet horse that everyone will enjoy. We are very happy that she is making Castle Farm a permanent home!

Name: Anastasia
AKA: "Annie"
Stats: 2001 Thoroughbred mare, 16.1hh
Owned by: Ashley Godfrey
Used for: Eventing, lessons
Spring 2011 NCDCTA Timex Eventing Series Beginner Novice Division Champion (with rider Ashley Godfrey)
2011 MacNair's Country Acres Novice Combined Training Division 3rd place Year End Award (with rider Ashley Godfrey)

2013 Fenridge Farm Show Series High Point 4th place in Upper Level Eventing (with rider Ashley Godfrey)
January 2014 Sharon Oaks Jumper Show 2'6" Division Champion (with rider Ashley Godfrey)

Annie is Ashley's newest mount, and her first mare! Annie is very kind tempered and moves very gracefully. She is also a great jumper, having already competed up to training level eventing and schooled at preliminary level. Annie is a perfectionist, who will tolerate a few mistakes as her riding is learning, but will set you straight if you start to make too many. She has a lot of power and potential, so we are looking forward to seeing Ashley and Annie get to know each other and figure out just how far they can go. The stars are the limit!

Name: Destined To Be Duchess
AKA: "Duchess"
Stats: 2005 Quarter Horse mare, 15.1hh
Owned by: Jenna and Sheryl Leidecker
Used for: hunters, lessons, pleasure horse
Sharon Oaks February 2017 Hunter Show Long Stirrup Champion (rider Jenna Leidecker)

Jenna's recent Christmas present was that she was allowed to start looking for a horse of her own. Jenna and her mom Sheryl diligently looked at probably a dozen horses before they came across Duchess. It was love at first sight! Duchess has the temperament of a saint and just takes everything in stride. She is a nice mover too and should prove to be a lot of fun for Jenna and Sheryl. Congratulations to them both!

Name: Pipsqueak
AKA: "Pippa"
Stats: 2009 Welsh/TB Mare, 13.3hh
Owned by: Natalie Barnes
Used for: lessons, hunters, pleasure horse

Pippa has been to and from Castle Farm for several years now. Her former owner would bring her here for training, and then for lessons with her daughter. Recently, she was being leased by Natalie and had found a semi-permanent home here. All that has now changed - Natalie's family purchase Pippa, and this wonderful, little pony gets to stay here! She has one of the best attitudes of any pony I've known. Don't get me wrong, she's still a pony, but she is super sweet and loving and really enjoys being around people. She goes out of her way to come up to you in the field. She is still a pony though, so she does have some spunk to her, but nothing that isn't manageable :). We are very excited to have Pippa here and can't wait to see how she and Natalie continue to excel!

Purpose: Progeny

See Dylan in his first unassisted horse show class!

Warning: this video is large

Dylan is the heir apparent to Castle Farm. His hobbies include drums, teeball, playing with trains and Nerf blasters. He has competed in walk/trot classes, but he really enjoys joining his mother on hunter paces and driving events.

Name: MacKenzie
AKA: Kenzi
Stats: 2013 Terrier cross, female (S)
Purpose: Barn dog, loyal companion, herder of geese and horses

Kenzi was found in the middle of the road one night. After many attempts to find her owner, we decided she needed a permanent home here at Castle Farm. She is so lovable, that it wasn't a hard decision. She can be found anywhere Heather is, since she follows her everywhere. She is super sweet and affectionate, very friendly and excited to see any new faces. Maybe we can even teach her to ride a horse :)

Name: Jose Cuervo
AKA: Jose
Stats: ?? Maine Coon, male (N)
Purpose: Barn cat, mouser, guardian of the barn

We adopted Jose after Morgan stopped catching mice at the barn. The barn was becoming overrun with mice, then Jose came, and after about 2 weeks, there were no mice to be seen anywhere! He definitely earns his keep! In addition to being a great mouser, he has also proven to be quite affectionate. Once he gets to know you, that is. He enjoys jumping in your lap to be loved on, with or without invitation. :)
